Our Lady of Hope Youth Ministry
The youth ministry program at Our Lady of Hope exists to support the youth of the parish in developing and living their Catholic faith. We aim to promote healthy development in teens, accompany them in their struggles, inspire them to grow in faith and challenge them to transform the lives of others by living in a truly Christ-like way.
Our youth group, Espiritus, serves as the focal point of our ministry, a place where teens can learn and live their faith in a supportive community of peers and adults. In addition to the group, teens are encouraged to be active as full members in all aspects of the parish. Many service and social activities are offered, giving opportunities for further community and individual growth.
Ultimately, as the name suggests, youth ministry is about teens encountering Christ, whether through prayer, in the faces of friends or those in need. This is our focus, to awaken young people to the transformative love of Christ by our example, in supportive community of their peers, and through engaging learning experiences.
We fully realize that family, especially parental influence, is the primary area of faith formation. Therefore Youth Ministry is designed to be most effective when it is supporting a faith life already begun and encouraged in the teen’s family. Because of this, we try to support families whenever possible. We are always open to feedback from parents, and would invited you to contact Ed at any time.

OLOH 7th/8th Grade Ministry - “Gods Teen Crusaders”
Gods Teen Crusaders, or GTC for short, is the name that our junior high students picked for our 7th/8th grade youth group. This group is separate from Religious Education classes, and has different goals and formats.
Our mission is twofold: Provide a fun and joy-filled yet challenging group where young teens strengthen faith through bonds of Catholic friendship, and encourage a personal relationship with God that influences their day-to-day life. Because of that, our meetings are structured to support new friendships and involve faith in daily life. Catechesis is still part of our program, lightly woven throughout our meetings and experienced through the example of our volunteers.
Currently, this group meets two or three times a month, once on the second Sunday, and other dates as announced. Meetings are split evenly between social events, high energy meetings with a faith theme, and service trips.
Any and all 7th and 8th graders are welcome at any event. For upcoming events/meetings, check the Upcoming Events page, or email Ed Rogers.
